Project by Carlo Maciachini for the Serbo-Orthodox Church of San Spiridione
Project drawing of the facade of the Chiesa serbo-ortodossa di San Spiridione in Trieste, signed by Carlo Maciachini in 1860. The plate highlights the large central dome with four minor domes, round arches, and a richly decorated portal. On the front appear mosaics of the saints, carved friezes, and trifor windows that evoke the Byzantine aesthetics of the historic building. A period document that recounts the architectural project of nineteenth-century Trieste.
