Greek Orthodox Church
This vintage postcard depicts the Chiesa Greca Ortodossa di San Nicolò in Trieste, located along the waterfront. The building, in neoclassical style, stands out for its facade with columns and triangular pediment, flanked by two bell towers with dark domes. In the foreground, the lively activity of the port is noticeable, with a moored boat and numerous people animating the square in front of the church. In the background, elegant historic palaces are visible, typical of the Triestine center. The image conveys the cosmopolitan and multicultural atmosphere of Trieste at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth, where the Greek community played an important role in the economic and social life of the city.
