This period drawing depicts the demolition of the Church of San Pietro in Piazza Grande in Trieste, which occurred in March 1871, in a drawing by Carlo Rieger. The drawing shows workers at work and curious citizens, while the famous rose window, later transferred to the Church of Barcola, dominates the scene. A precious visual document preserved by the Civici Musei di Storia e Arte di Trieste.
