A lively square of the Barriera Vecchia, today Garibaldi

In Piazza Garibaldi in Trieste, then Barriera Vecchia, previously piazza Elisabettiana and piazza della Marina, the market stalls fill the square in the years ’20. Under the awnings, goods and fruit can be seen, with passersby and vendors animating the scene. Around, nineteenth-century buildings with balconies and sunshades frame the panoramic view. In the foreground, an elegant kiosk and the stone paving complete the atmosphere of the historical photo.
