Via Romagna at the beginning of the 1900s

Via Romagna in Trieste at the beginning of the twentieth century in a historical photo. The steep road climbs between stone buildings and a long wall: on the right runs the Caserma Grande of via del Torrente, today via Carducci. Some passersby, with clothes of the era, walk the ascent under trees and lampposts. In the background the hills can be glimpsed, in an essential and silent urban view.
