Via Donota after the demolitions of 1935
Via Donota in Trieste appears bare and steeply inclined: on the left side the houses have been completely demolished, leaving cut facades and a slope of rubble. On the right, buildings with shops at street level resist, while some people cross the square in the foreground. In the background, the fortified complex of San Giusto can be recognized. A historical photo that recounts the urban transformation of this stretch of the center.
