Monument to Princess Elisabetta d'Austria, called Sissi

Historical photo of the monument to Elisabetta d’Austria, Sissi, in Piazza Stazione, today Piazza Libertà in Trieste. In the foreground the bronze statue on a high pedestal with the inscription “Elisabetta”, flanked by large allegorical bas-reliefs and iron fencing; in the background the greenery of the garden in front of the Silos. The work was inaugurated on 15 December 1912 and removed in 1921 from its original location.
