New Israelite Temple

This postcard from 1912 depicts the Nuovo Tempio Israelitico of Trieste, today known as the Sinagoga di Trieste. The building, inaugurated precisely in 1912, is one of the largest and most imposing Jewish temples in Europe. The structure stands out for its monumental forms, with the large central dome, the minor lateral domes, and the splendid decorated rose window on the main facade. The architectural style blends orientalizing and Romanesque elements, conferring on the temple a solemn and unique appearance in the city landscape.
